Club News
The 2007 / 2008 Season is now over. The new Season starts on 9th September 2007. 8pm at the YMCA in Watermans Road Henley.
If you can't wait until then, remember we get together at the Flowerpot Pub in Aston every Tuesday at about 8pm

Heres some of the stuff we get up to...

Fun evenings:

The pre-Christmas meeting is an occasion for relaxation, with photographic quizzes and puzzles.

During the season we run a "Ready, Steady, SHOOT!" evening where we arrange for four mini Studio set ups to be available with lights. Then we get together in four groups and see which group can get the best photo from each Studio set up.

Evening out to practice and learn about night time photography. A tri-pod of some sort is a must!

Assessment Evenings:
These photographic assessments are held at the beginning of each season and are designed to encourage all members to show off their new prints, slides or digital images in a non competitive and helpful surroundings.
An Experienced Club Member will offer constructive criticism and award a mark for each image, giving the author a measure of his/her work against the rest of the club.
The assessments also give the clubs selection committee an opportunity to keep an eye out for pictures that can be short-listed for use in competitions against other clubs.

Battles:
During the season a number of nearby clubs are invited to competitions in which each club submits a specified number of prints and slides for comment and marking by an independent judge.

Internal Club Competitions:
Pit your photographic prints slides and digital images against other club members images. You'll get constructive criticisms from the judge and marks out of 20 for each image. These marks will go towards your seasons total score and who knows you could even go POTY and win Photographer Of The Year. There is of course no obligation for you to enter any of the competitions.

Talks:
A number of guest speakers come to the club and give talks and lectures, usually illustrated by their own pictures.
Practical Evenings:
These are great opportunities to get other members to show you first hand how to get the best out of taking photos. We usually have several studio style set-ups including Portraits, Close-up, Still Life and Glass.
We also show techniques on how to present prints, slides and digital images for competitions, when possible we also include topics such as darkroom techniques and computer manipulation of images.

Audio Visual Evenings:
From 2007 - 2008 season we'll be running computer / digital based AV evenings and encourage members (new and old) to produce an AV of their images.

Members Presentations:
Evenings are set aside for members to give short presentations of slides or prints on specific themes, or places.   Although it is not compulsory all members are encouraged to take part.
